Sun StorEdge L280 (SGXLIBDLT1280) DLT Tape Drive - The Sun StorEdge L280 has a native capacity of up to 280 GB of backup storage and a native transfer rate of 5 MB/second. The DLT7000 drive in the autoloader is backward compatible to existing digital linear tape formats as well, enabling both reading and writing of previous formats. The StorEdge L280 is ideal for data backup and archival of workgroup and departmental servers. Sun's new entry-level digital linear tape-automation solution enables multiple backup copies of 50-GB to 150-GB databases to be stored within a single Sun StorEdge L280 unit. With a data transfer rate of 5 MB/second, customers can back up their data over 3 times faster than the current SPARCstorage DLT4700.
